It has been a
wonderful first month at EPC! Erin and I have thoroughly
enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. This is such a friendly church!
Thank you for the warm welcome.
Sebastian Bach once stated, "The aim and final end of all
music should be none other than the glory of God and the
refreshment of the soul." I couldn't agree with this statement
more. We were created to glorify God. We were created to
enjoy Him and He us. What a wonderful purpose! The Creator delights
in His creation!
hearing Jerry Black play our beautiful new organ on Sunday
mornings. It's been a huge blessing to witness worship in action as
two-hundred plus congregants lift their voices in song to Jesus!
Lee Kizer and the Road Praise Band light the CLC up in true
worship each Sunday morning. Mrs. Kimber and Mr. Hubie have led the
kids in song each Wednesday for the past few months. This is a
singing church. Praise be to God!
There is such
a sweet spirit among the congregation. I've especially witnessed
this among folks in the music ministry. These people offer their
time and talent to the Lord on a weekly basis.
Have you ever
thought about singing in the choir? Do you have children and
youth who are looking to serve the Lord through song? Do you
play an instrument and wish you could be involved in the music
ministry at EPC? Well, guess what? There is a place for

Children's Ministry Teachers Needed: We're looking for
volunteers to teach children's Sunday school during the summer
so that our regular teachers can have some time "off". We
provide the curriculum and training; you provide the love and
encouragement for our children for several weeks. What a
blessing! Contact Hubie Mann to sign-up.
During the Summer, we will be offering two adult CLT classes
on Sunday mornings. Carolyn Waters will be teaching "Awesome
God" (a class on the various Hebrew names for God) while Hubie
& Terri Mann will be teaching "Christianity101" which
focuses on the basics of the Christian faith.
We believe that meeting regularly with a small group
of Christ followers is vital to growing in your faith. That's why
we offer many opportunities throughout the week for members of EPC
to meet together in small groups for fellowship, caring, and Bible
study. So, if you're interested in joining a small group, please
contact Hubie Mann (firstname.lastname@example.org)
and we'll help you find the right group for you!
Vacation Bible School - June 22-26
This year's theme is "Hometown Nazareth:
Where Jesus Grew Up" and our registration is FULL with 150

children of our community, please contact Hubie Mann, at email@example.com.
Donations of grocery store gift cards (Costco, Publix,
Kroger, Walmart, etc.) are needed to buy snacks for VBS and we're
also collecting old "used" crayons and cupcake pans for
one of our craft projects. These items can be dropped off in the
main office or given to Hubie Mann.
VBS training for VBS volunteers who missed the May 17
training session (including Youth Volunteers) will take place
on Sunday, June 7, from 2-3:30pm in CLC Room 208.

MUST Summer Lunch Program
The MUST Summer
Lunch program has been sponsored by MUST
Ministries since 1995. During the summer months children who are
eligible to receive a free or reduced lunch during the school year
are also given the opportunity to have a free lunch delivered to
them by way of volunteers. Monday through Friday a child receives a
sack lunch. Sometimes this is their only meal of the day. MUST
Ministries is proud to have delivered over 254,900 lunches last
summer to children in need.
You can help!
On Tuesday mornings, June 2, 9 and 16 at 9:30am in the CLC kitchen
Eastminster Volunteers will make 500 lunches each day for a total
of 1,500 lunches. It only takes about an hour of your
time...everyone can do their part from Grandparents to
kindergarteners! Teenagers - we can sign off on service hours if
you need them.

pantries are running low, and they are in dire need of Peanut
Butter and Jelly! On your next trip to the grocery
store please remember MUST and pick up a jar of each and put it in
our MUST Barrels--located in the alcove and the CLC. Any other
items would also be greatly appreciated. Diapers are always
needed, along with canned meats and non-perishable
items. Thank you from the Mission Team!
For the third quarter (July-August) we will be
donating new pillows and pillow cases to 7 Bridges. How nice for
them to have all NEW bedding as we supplied them with new sheets
and blankets in January. They were thrilled and the key word is
NEW. We take so much for granted and don't think about the word
NEW. As usual there will be bins in the alcove and
the CLC. I will pick them up weekly.
Anna's Linens on Cobb Pkwy runs sales 2 for
$5.00 and they are decent pillows; I'm sure Big Lots has some
good deals too. Again the Mission Team thanks you for your support
and generosity. Any questions, call Barbara Lowery
Friday night sandwiches at 7 Bridges will be
on June 26, and July 24. If you have a couple of hours to help make
sandwiches on either of
these two nights, call Barbara Lowery at 770-973-1172.
Many thanks for the response last month.

Scott, daughter of Gordon and Connie Scott, is collecting donations
for her Girl Scout Gold Award project. As an Ambassador level Girl
Scout in Troop 2446, she is currently working on the highest Girl
Scout Award, the Gold Award. Her community Gold Award project focus
is anti-bullying. She will be presenting this interactive message
to students at several elementary schools in our area including
Murdock Elementary. Her presentation will include a follow-along,
anti-bullying PowerPoint presentation along with individual
packets, a school "Stamp Out Bullying" banner, and hands-on
lessons. To further expand her global audience she is launching her
own website to impact the future generation's acceptance of one
another and their differences. She would greatly appreciate the
support of Eastminster through member donations in order to achieve
the Gold Award. Contributions can be made payable to Girl Scout
Troop #2446 as Cassie cannot accept checks made directly to her.
They can be collected at church or mailed to her home address of

What a great
year for our preschool. We had 86 children enrolled this year,
24 of whom graduated on May 12. Our last day of school this
year was May 19. We are already getting ready for the 2015
school year with 90 children currently enrolled. We are full
in most classes, though we do still have room for Toddlers (16 to 24
months) if you know anyone looking for a great preschool. We
are also offering a Summer Camp June 14-16 and June 21-23 for 3 to
5 year olds! Registration is available on-line.
Eastminster for the wonderful support you have provided your preschool
again this year. With your encouragement, we continue to
expand and offer a safe, nurturing place for families where their
children can grow spiritually and academically.
