The church nursery provides a safe, secure, and fun Christian environment filled with love and warmth for children. The nursery is available during worship services and Sunday School for parents of infants and toddlers. The nursery is staffed by Eastminster employees and volunteers.

General Nursery Guidelines
Children will be cared for only when parents are attending a church function.
Please register your child at the door using the provided information sign-in sheet. We require parents to provide information about their whereabouts during Sunday or weekday activities, and to inform us of any special needs.
To ensure the security of your child, no child will be released to any person other than the parent unless we are notified.
In an effort to ease congestion in our hallways and classrooms, we ask that only one parent bring and pick up a child.
Please call for your children immediately after the close of church activities. The nursery remains open for 15 minutes after activities close.
No medication will be administered to your child while he or she is in the nursery department.
All parents of nursery-age children are required to serve periodically in the nursery department. If you cannot serve on your assigned Sunday, please arrange for a substitute and notify the nursery coordinator of any change.
On your assigned nursery date, please be in your nursery work area 15 minutes before worship services begin.
Babies will be transferred to the next nursery as they develop mentally and physically.

Feedings
All children should be fed before coming to the nursery department. During worship services, infants will be fed formula, milk, juice, or water as provided by the parents in labeled plastic bottles. No spoon feeding will be done. All other children will be served a snack.
Any serious food allergies, problems, or peculiarities should be reported to the nursery worker and written on the child’s registration card.
Materials
We require all of your child’s belongings -- including bottles, pacifiers, clothing, diaper bags, etc. -- to be labeled with the child’s full name. Masking tape and permanent markers are suggested. Luggage tags work well for labeling diaper bags.
We prefer that you bring disposable diapers and baby wipes. If your child uses cloth diapers, please provide plastic bags for their storage. For sanitation purposes, nursery workers will not rinse cloth diapers or soiled clothing.
We suggest a change of clothes for all of our young children. If your child is not completely potty trained, please bring extra underpants and clothes.
Children should not bring toys, books, or other materials from home. All necessary materials will be provided by the church.
Illness
If your child appears ill, we ask that you do not bring him or her to the nursery, as protection for your child and the other children. Upon the recommendation of the Committee on Control of Infectious Disease of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be around other children with any of the following: fever; vomiting or diarrhea; any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, or whooping cough; common cold; sore throat; croup; any unexplained rash; any skin infection, including boils, ringworm, and impetigo; or pink eye or other eye infections.
Children who appear ill during church activities will be isolated and the parents notified. It is our goal to keep all our children healthy and happy. Please help us by not exposing others.
