Eastminster Presbyterian Church is part of a rich and ancient history, beginning with the Jews who knew Jesus and heard His teachings. The Presbyterian Church as we understand it today can be traced back to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation, when leaders such as John Calvin and John Knox helped reform our way of thinking about God and our relationship to Him. Followers of Knox and Calvin brought these new ideologies to the United States, where they were instrumental in the development of our democratic government and served as the foundation for so many societal institutions.
Today, Eastminster is one of 12,000 congregations of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and the members of our congregation join approximately 2.5 million other Presbyterians nationwide in spreading the love of God through Jesus Christ. Our church began as a mission outreach by the Cherokee Presbytery into growing East Cobb in 1973, and we currently support mission activity in 87 countries and work with strong ?partner? churches throughout the world.
