EASTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

News and Events for the Week of June 23

Vacation Bible School 2019
Thank you to all who helped with our ROAR VBS this summer by praying, planning, and participating. It takes every part the church body to make VBS happen. We enjoyed our Safari Adventure where we discovered that when Life is unfair, scary, changes, sad and good…God is good!  We learned that God has the power to provide, to comfort, to heal, and to forgive. We challenged, taught, and led 120 children throughout four stations of learning in storytelling, recreation, KidVid, and Imagination Station. Our opening and closing sessions in The Great Hall and outside for Recreation were awesome. Thank you to our over 45 teens and almost 50 adults who helped us lead these children on a part of their faith journey.  What a blessing to serve at Eastminster and see how God changes lives in amazing ways as we learn and celebrate His word!  Thank you to all!

Hands of Hope Mini Mission Trip Opportunity
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, every summer Eastminster provides bicycles for Hands of Hope to give away at the Welch branch McDowell County Summer Library Reading Program for children. Some of you have expressed the desire to go to West Virginia but are unable to go on the 4-day long trip.  This mini mission trip is a great opportunity for you to participate in the Reading Program, see the area and Hope Chest, and meet some of the residents of Welch. We will have fliers with details if you are interested after church and are available to chat with you as well. Thanks,
Suzie (678-283-0774) and Norm Baur (678-283-0776).
The Welcome Team Needs You
THE WELCOME TEAM IS LOOKING FOR friendly, helpful folks to join our Greeter Ministry. Serving as a greeter is a great way to meet new people, connect with guests and other Covenant Partners, and serve our Lord as He gathers His flock for worship at Eastminster. If you feel God calling you to join our team of dedicated, Christ-centered greeters, please speak with Welcome Deacons Sara Dilworth, Alison Horton, or Chris Wallace, or send us an email, (welcome@epres.org).
2019 Men’s Conference
BROTHERS, PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL MEN’S CONFERENCE on Saturday morning, August 3. Speaker Preston Poore will be talking with us about becoming a Discipled Leader. Specifically, we’ll dive into developing Christlike character, influencing your culture and changing your world. Registration is now available at epres.org/discipled.
Please begin praying for the conference, and for any men in your life that you would like to invite.
