Weekly Update 3/20/13

CHILDREN ARE INVITED TO GATHER in the narthex and lobby of the CLC with palms. They will come in before the choir and wave palms through the opening hymn and the litany that follows. After shouting “Hosanna!” and tossing the palms, they are welcome to return to their families until the children’s sermon.

MARCH 24 IS OUR ANNUAL MISSION OFFERING: Here is your opportunity to help grow God’s kingdom! We will be able to show Christ’s love to our neighbors near and far by sharing the financial resources God has entrusted to us.  Please use the Mission Offering envelope in your bulletin and prayerfully consider your giving. Jesus is clear when He says “…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”  Matthew 25:40.

EASTMINSTER’S EGG HUNT immediately after the 11:15 service March 24. The hunt will take place beside the playground. If the weather is not conducive to an outdoor hunt, it will be held in the CLC.  All ages are welcome. There will not be candy in the eggs. Gather what you can and turn them in for a bag of goodies.

CALLING ALL YOUTH TO HELP with the Easter Egg Hunt today. Meet at approximately 11:15 in the narthex.

COLLECTIONS FOR KENYA – Eastminster is sending 18 missionaries to Kenya this spring to minister to over 400 children in 3 different orphanages and as our sending church, we need your help. Kenya has Mt. Kenya and Eastminster has ‘Tub Mountain’. Tub Mountain now exists in Fellowship Hall and was built using empty tubs that need to be filled with supplies for the children and supporting ministries. Tub Mountain features pictures of some of the children these supplies will go to and the lists of needed supplies. Visit Tub Mountain and take time to read about the children and pick up a supply list. The next time you are shopping purchase a few of the items.  If everyone purchases just a few items Tub Mountain will fill up fast. Donations can be made in the open tubs in Fellowship Hall, the collection bins or the CLC. Please watch as the tubs of Tub Mountain are filled. We are so excited about this opportunity to serve.

HANDS OF HOPE NEED YOU MAY 9-12:  Donations for our May HOHM are being collected. Requests have been made that household goods and linens are really needed at this time.
