COLLECTIONS FOR KENYA – Eastminster is sending 18 missionaries to Kenya this spring to minister to over 400 children in 3 different orphanages and as our sending church, we need your help. Kenya has Mt. Kenya and Eastminster has ‘Tub Mountain’. Tub Mountain now exists in Fellowship Hall and was built using empty tubs that need to be filled with supplies for the children and supporting ministries. Tub Mountain features pictures of some of the children these supplies will go to and the lists of needed supplies. Please visit Tub Mountain and take time to read about the children and take supply list. The next time you are shopping please purchase a few of the items we need. If everyone purchases just a few items Tub Mountain will fill up fast. Donations can be made in the open tubs in Fellowship Hall, the collection bins or the CLC. Please watch as the tubs of Tub Mountain are filled. We are so excited about this opportunity to serve. Thank you for your support!
CRAFT CIRCLE will continue sewing pencil bags for the Kenya mission trip in March and April. If we complete the bags we will cut out scarves for the West Virginia mission trip in May. Scissors, sewing machines and thread is all the supplies needed for either of these projects. Contact Jan Conkright firstname.lastname@example.org or (770)578-6331 if you have any questions.
SPUNKY SPIRITS will meet at the home of Barbara Duda, 4034 Bradbury Dr. Marietta, 770-321-4400, at 11am on March 14. We will be sharing lesson 6 in our Angel Study. Please bring a dish to share for our Fellowship Lunch and come and enjoy. For more information, please contact Jane Merry, 678-560-0218 or Karen Jones, 678-445-8080.
PALM SUNDAY CHILDREN IN WORSHIP: All children are invited to participate in our “Palm Waving” processional at both worship services on Palm Sunday (March 24). For the 9am service, meet in the church library at 8:55am and for the 11:15am service, meet in the narthex at 11:10am to get your palms and some brief instructions. The children will process in and wave palms during the opening song and the litany that follows. After shouting “Hosanna!” and laying down their palms, they will return to sit with their families.
Also, on Palm Sunday, our Pre-K/Kindergarten students will be leading the congregation in singing the Doxology during both worship services. These students have been learning about the Doxology as a worship “milestone” as part of their Christian Life Training curriculum and now they are ready to lead the congregation. Parents of Pre-K/Kindergarten students are requested to RSVP to Hubie Mann in the Christian Education office to let us know which service your child will be attending.
WEDNESDAY MORNING WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets this Wednesday, March 6, at 10am in CLC Room 201. We’re studying the “Parables of Jesus in Luke” using a DVD series by Dr. Ken Bailey and this week we’ll be looking at the parable of “The Great Banquet” from Luke 14:15-24.
ART MINISTRY: The pictures taken of the children and adults dressed up like animals at the Mural Celebration event in January are displayed in Fellowship Hall on the Art Ministry’s bulletin board for participants to take home–they are SUPER PICTURES!! Come pick them up and enjoy!!
